When creating your own yearbook design in Canva, there are specific page dimensions to follow for your page background images.
For an 8.5" x 11" book, an entire spread final file size (including the bleed) is 17.25”w x 11.25”h. A single page final file size (including the bleed) is 8.75”w x 11.25”h. The following will explain how to set those up and how to save them correctly to upload to Treering.
Creating Your Page Size
1. Choose Custom Size in the upper right corner. Change the dropdown to be in inches. Type in the width of 17.25" and height of 11.25". Select Create New Design.
2. You need to make sure that you can see the bleed of this document. Select:
- View Settings
- Show Print Bleed
A border of dashed lines will appear close to the edges of your design. This bleed margin is fixed based on our print production standards and can't be adjusted.
If you are designing a single page, follow the same steps using the dimensions of 8.75" wide x 11.25" high.
For a 9" x 12" book, an entire spread final file size (including the bleed) is 18.25”w x 12.25”h. A single page final file size (including the bleed) is 9.25”w x 12.25”h.
Saving Your Page
Select Share in the upper right corner then click on Download. In File Type, choose PNG and increase the size slider to 2.625. Select Download.
After the Canva pages have been created and saved as JPEGs they can be uploaded as photos in Treering.
The photos can then be added as backgrounds to your yearbook pages.
